Can I have a campfire at Mel & Nico?
Yes, each campsite is equipped with a fireplace with a spark arrester to prevent forest fires. Wood is on sale on site for your campfires. Indeed, as the law requires us to do and to avoid the spread of insects harmful to our forests, it is forbidden to bring your own wood to Mel & Nico.
Are animals accepted?
Yes on the site and on the wild camping sites. Some rules for living well together, animals must be under the control of their master at all times, not disturb other people on the site and excrement must be collected. For ready to camp site, some are accessible with animals, others not, you have the information on the description of each site.
What are the sanitary and kitchen facilities at the campsite?
- A dry toilet (with sawdust) in the campsite - A complete all genders sanitary block close to reception (shower, toilets, sinks) - There is no charge for showers - An exterior dish sink and water filling taps (interior and exterior) - A shared outdoor kitchen location (ecological soap dish sink; picnic tables, barbecue, fireplace, etc.)
Why can't I drive to my campsite?
To have a calm and relaxing place for everyone as well as for the good of the forest being reforested, cars remain in the parking lot at the entrance. The walking distance is a maximum of 500 meters and transport carts for your belongings will be available. This will allow you to be woken up by the field of birds and not by engine noise.
What activities are offered at Chez Mel&Nico?
The region is full of summer and winter activities, do not hesitate to ask us for advice during your stay or your reservation. On the site, our primary wish is calm and rest. The site is bordered by a tiny river accessible to campers to cool their feet. In case of bad weather or for breakfast, a common room in our main yurt is available with books, board games and sofas around a wood stove. Where is located Chez Mel&Nico ?
The camping is located in Mauricie, in the nice village of Saint Elie de Caxton. It's at less than one kilometer of the center of the village and at 150 meters of a conveniant store, eveything that you need for your stay is around.
